Dental veneers can transform a smile into something really special, a white uniform set of teeth that people will envy. However, the procedure is not as straight forward as some cosmetic dentists may have you believe. Your teeth must feel comfortable and do the job they are intended for; to bite and chew food. To do this job properly they must be properly aligned and if you have any cavities, periodontal disease, or an improper bite, then these issues must be addressed before proceeding with veneers. The most common reason that a veneer comes off is because of an improper bite but if you are prepared to address any corrective work before veneers are fitted then they should last at least 10-15 years without problem but dentist will advise specifically relating to individual cases.
So the sort of smile improvement you could enjoy are shown in the examples below (these were both treated by Dr Chatha):
In order to ensure comfort which means that your teeth should both look and feel great after veneers the first issue as we have said above is to address any corrective work. Once that is done then fitting veneers is fairly straight forward. Your teeth will be prepared by grinding off a small amount of enamel which enables the veneer to be properly bonded with each tooth. The veneer itself is a wafer thin, semi-translucent facing which can be shaped so that any gaps between your teeth are filled in but other than that they should be of the same general height and width of your existing teeth. Dental veneers are durable, stain-resistant, and natural looking. Most veneers are custom made of porcelain, designed specifically for your teeth and fabricated at a specialty dental lab. Fitting is painless and straight forward but be prepared to smile a lot after this work, you will find it hard not to show off your new Hollywood type smile!

Veneers are a cosmetic dental treatment that is custom designed and fabricated for every patient on an individual basis, for this reason veneers will cost in the region of £750 each. Please keep in mind that you can get major improvements to the look of your teeth with just a few veneers, you certainly do not have to have a full set! It may be that you will also require a porcelain crown or two and perhaps other corrective treatment before veneers are fitted.
The only way we can give you a firm price for fitting veneers is for you to come along and have a free consultation where we will list out what work needs to be done and we can then offer a price. What we can say with total confidence is that you will be delighted with your veneers!
